SAN DIEGO, Nov. 9, 2009 - When it comes to the antenna ball game, Jack in the Box®
restaurants are in a league of their own with more than 28 million of the popular "Jack" antenna
balls in circulation. The company today unveils its newest antenna ball, which will raise money
for Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation's largest donor-supported network of volunteer mentors
of youth.
The limited-edition antenna ball features a classic Jack-style noggin sporting a backwards
baseball cap and red wrap shades, and blowing a gum bubble. The antenna ball is available for
just $1, plus tax, at all participating Jack in the Box restaurants, while supplies last. Seventy
percent of antenna ball sales will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters, the primary charitable partner of
Jack in the Box for more than a decade. This is the second year that Jack in the Box has sold a
limited-edition antenna ball to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Last year's promotion
was a major success, raising nearly $360,000 for the youth mentoring organization.
Jack in the Box will also promote its Big Brothers Big Sisters partnership at the 2010
Tournament of Roses® Parade in Pasadena, Calif., where the company will again enter a float.
The company's 2009 entry, dubbed Jack-O-Licious, won the prestigious Extraordinaire Trophy
as the most spectacular entry over 55 feet. Riding along with Jack atop the 2010 float will be the
2009 California Big Sister of the Year, Christy Stoeckel, and her Little Sister, April.
"Having a mentor can literally change a child's life, and that's why we're so dedicated to
our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters," said Terri Funk Graham, senior vice president
and chief marketing officer for Jack in the Box Inc. "We're looking forward to our antenna ball
promotion and the Tournament of Roses Parade as great opportunities to raise money and
awareness for a terrific cause."
