Match Support Specialist

Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters (CBBBS) seeks a high-level individual for full-time employment as a Match Support Specialist to support mentor/mentee relationships through on-going case management, implementing the one-to-one Big Brothers Big Sisters program model. CBBBS commits to transforming lives through rewarding and enriching relationships between trained mentors and youth of all faiths and backgrounds throughout the County of Los Angeles.
JOB SUMMARY: The Match Support Specialist position is responsible for providing support to mentor/mentee matches ensuring positive impacts for all parties through scheduled in-person, telephone and electronic contact ensuring the elements of child safety, match relationship development, positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction are fulfilled and that potential problems and barriers are identified and addressed as early as possible. These caseloads are made up of at-risk youth and families and children of prisoners.
Job Specific Responsibilities and Experience: The responsibilities for the Match Support Specialist include but are not limited to the following. The agency may add other functions or responsibilities as necessary:
- Maintain regular and scheduled contact with mentor/mentee matches and provide comprehensive contact and assessment logs of all contacts.
- Assess individual training needs, provide information and support needs for each mentor/mentee participant to assure a positive youth development experience for the child, and successful and satisfying experience for the volunteer.
- Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures throughout all aspects of job function.
- Develop strategic interventions to identify and strengthen mentor/mentee match relationships that require extra support to continue to grow.
- Implement and promote mentor/mentee match activities to support ongoing volunteer involvement through individualized recognition, annual events, and reengagement strategies.
- Establish, monitor and meet goals for mentor/mentee match length and participant satisfaction. Provide timely and comprehensive written summaries of all contacts.
- Ability to work with various collaborating agencies, schools, volunteers, parents and youth groups.
- Bilingual/Fluency in Spanish required.
- Reimbursable local travel is required.
- Will consider part-time employment.
